How age is calculated
The calculator counts full years since the date of birth, then full months, then the remaining days. This matches the way age is normally stated: you turn a year older on your birthday, not before.
To find someone’s age on a past or future date, such as the day of an exam or a retirement date, change Age on this date.
Common questions
What if I was born on February 29?
In years without a February 29, the birthday is shown on February 28. Some countries treat March 1 as the legal birthday instead, so check local rules for official purposes.
Is my date of birth saved?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and the date is not sent anywhere.
Why does the day count differ from other sites?
Some calculators count the birth day itself as day one. This one counts the days that have passed since birth.
