How the count works
The calculator subtracts the start date from the end date. By default the end date is not counted, so Monday to Tuesday is one day. Tick Include the end date when both days should count, for example a festival that runs from the 1st to the 3rd lasts three days.
The years, months and days figure counts whole calendar months first. If a month is shorter than the start day (for example, starting on the 31st), the month ends on its last day.
Common questions
Are leap years included?
Yes. The tool counts real calendar days, so February 29 is counted in leap years.
What counts as a weekday?
Monday through Friday. Public holidays are not removed because they differ by country and region.
Does daylight saving time change the result?
No. The count uses whole calendar dates, so clock changes do not add or remove a day.
