About the Persian (Jalali) calendar
The Persian calendar, also called the Jalali or Solar Hijri calendar, is the official calendar of Iran and Afghanistan. It is a solar calendar, and the year begins at the spring equinox on Nowruz, around 20 or 21 March, which is 1 Farvardin. The first six months have 31 days, the next five have 30, and the last month, Esfand, has 29 or 30.
The months are Farvardin, Ordibehesht, Khordad, Tir, Mordad, Shahrivar, Mehr, Aban, Azar, Dey, Bahman and Esfand. The Persian year is the Gregorian year minus 621 or 622, depending on whether the date is after Nowruz. The era is marked AP. The converter shows the Kurdish solar calendar too, which uses the same days with Kurdish month names.
